The Calgary Foundation makes effective grants in a wide range of sectors. We facilitate powerful connections between people and organizations in the community. Our independent view of community issues and priorities crosses many sectors; we transcend special interests and reflect the interests of the Calgary and area community.

Here are some highlights from our broad range of Grants -

Engaging Citizens

$23,000 was granted to the Sierra Club of Canada Foundation for support of the Andy Russell - I'tai sah kop Park,

a cross-cultural park initiative that addresess environmental and quality of life issues.

Creating New Futures

$26,000 was granted to the Calgary Family Services Society for the support of the Trauma Drama Youth Crime

Prevention Program to support a research and evidence based youth crime prevention program.


Srengthening Charities

$25,000 was granted to the Women In Need Society of Calgary to support an organizational development plan that will increase the capacity of their volunteer program.

Exploring and Celebrating our History and Culture

$30,000 was granted to Lord Stathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians Regimental Society) to support an upgrade to their reading, research and workspace furnishings available for public use.


Creating Vibrant Neighbouhoods
A community garden is a place to gather, to undertake collective work and to build the connections that create stronger neighbourhoods.  With a grant of $5,000, local gardeners created the Robert McClure Community Garden.
